A first in the industry, each ProSafe Gigabit Stackable Smart Switch comes with 24 or 48 10/100/1000 ports with four shared SFP ports that provide high performance for bandwidth-intensive applications like ERP and large file transfers. In addition, two dedicated ports provide a 20 Gbps, dual-ring, stacking bus that accommodates growth and offers the highest level of resiliency, thus allowing you to stack up to six switches or 288 10/100/1000 ports – and easily manage them all with a single IP address. Finally, these switches come with a complete suite of advanced features for more robust security, higher quality of service and high availability. This switch is equipped with highly advanced features such as Access Control Lists (ACL), 802.1x port authentication, enhanced QoS, rate limiting and IGMP Snooping among others to provide a small and medium-sized business with a network that is geared for growth while providing scalability and reliability.

Scalability and High Availability
Each ProSafe Gigabit Stackable Smart Switch comes with 2 dedicated high speed stacking ports providing 20 Gbps of bandwidth. Stack as many as six switches as you grow, and yet maintain high-speed connectivity across the stack with stacking cables. This stacking technology also provides several high availability features to ensure business continuity:
* Resiliency: Due to redundant stacking port connections, there is an automatic fail-over in case any switch in the stack fails, with rapid reconfiguration, thus preventing network downtime.
* Hot-swappable: All switches in the stack are hot-swappable, and can be integrated or removed without disrupting the network.
Advanced Security
These switches also provide advanced features that provide more robust security to the SMBs. These include:

* ACL filtering to permit or deny traffic based on MAC addresses.

Manage all ProSafe Gigabit Stackable Smart Switches as though they are one unit from an easy-to-use Web console that can be used to configure all features, as well as monitor and trouble-shoot. These switches also have SNMP (v1, 2 and 3) to collect and track data to monitor the network health, as well as manage devices, and more easily enforce critical IT controls and policies. SNMP v2c is most commonly deployed, as it provides better reporting capabilities than SNMP v1. Companies interested in more robust security may opt for SNMP v3, which provides data encryption.
