Optical Active SteadyShot represents the next step forward in Sony image stabilization technology. Active Mode improves on existing Optical SteadyShot image stabilization by allowing the camera lens to shift over a greater range of motion. This allows the HDRXR200V to compensate for greater degrees of camera shake and deliver an amazing level of image smoothness.
Built in GPS tagging with touch screen control
This Handycam features a built-in GPS receiver that allows you to use the touch screen to view your current location on the LCD map display, as well as "tag" your shooting locations. You can view your tagged videos and pictures via the Map Index function or once you've downloaded them to your PC using the supplied Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software.
Hybrid Technology – Record video to Hard Disk Drive or Memory Stick!
Hybrid Technology gives you the best of both worlds! Record High Definition 1920 x 1080 video direct to the internal 120GB Hard Disk Drive or to an optional Memory Stick. Using HD Long Play (1440x1080) you can record over 50 hours of footage before needing to export to external storage.
Face Detection
Face Detection technology ensures that family and friends captured with HDRXR200V are always shown at their best! When the camera detects a human face it automatically adjusts focus, colour control and brightness to ensure that faces are always clear and sharp. Face Detection also works in group shots, with up to 8 faces being tracked at once.
Smile Shutter
Smile Shutter technology enables you to simply point the Handycam at a smiling face and it will automatically capture a high resolution still image. When recording video, the Handycam automatically captures JPEGs of your loved ones every time they smile.
5.1ch Surround Sound Recording
Bring your home movies to life with the addition of a Dolby Digital 5.1 channel sound track! When recorded images are viewed with a 5.1channel Dolby Digital surround sound-compatible device, a lively audio experience is added to the visual pleasure of high-resolution images.
