The DGE-560T PCI Express Gigabit Network Adapter from D-Link is a high
performance adapter designed for the high-speed PCI Express Bus Architecture.
The PCI Express Network Adapter from D-Link offers increased bandwidth,
reliability, and more functionality than standard PCI network cards. It is
specifically designed to allow throughput at rates up to 2Gbps, thus eliminating
the bottleneck that exists with current 32 and 64 bit PCI bus architectures.
With support for advanced features such as: 802.3x flow control, SNMP for
network monitoring and management, and Jumbo Frames, interoperability with your
current networking equipment, and network feature sets will not be an issue.
Advance Features and Security
The card also features on-board screening of 802.1Q VLAN Tagged Ethernet frames,
allowing you to assign multiple subnets to each server and isolate devices
within each VLAN from the rest of the network for better traffic control and
security. It also supports 802.1P Priority Tagging to allow you to prioritize
traffic. In addition, the DGE-560T supports 802.3ad Link Aggregation. This
feature provides a means to increase bandwidth to workstations and servers by
“Trunking” multiple cards together forming one large bandwidth pipe. In today’s
overpopulated and bandwidth starved networks, 802.3ad Link Aggregation can
dramatically improve performance to your over burdened LAN servers. When using
multiple cards, the DGE-560T has the ability to provide fail over protection in
the event that one network card malfunctions. In this situation, your server or
workstation traffic is simply passed over the remaining functional network card
connections, guaranteeing safe, uninterrupted, transmission of data, while a
replacement card can be installed. Best of all, with the DGE-560T’s “Hot-Plug”
support, a replacement card can be installed without ever having to power down
your system.** DGE-560T also supports TCP, UDP, and IP Checksum Calculation as
well as TCP Segmentation to improve overall system performance by shifting CPU
intensive task away from your host CPU, and onto the DGE-560T card itself.
Remote Manageable
The DGE-560T includes many additional advanced features such as Advanced Power
Management and Wake-on-LAN support. It also supports remote network boot using
both PXE and RPL, allowing the network administrator to boot the PC from
anywhere on the network. The DGE-560T supports all major Operating Systems
including Windows 2000, XP, and 2003, guaranteeing compatibility with existing
server and workstation environments. The card also features a cable diagnostic
utility which will automatically detect when you have a bad cable, making your
troubleshooting task much easier. With advanced features, high-performance
architecture, and reliability, the D-Link DGE-560T is the perfect companion for
any network that requires a high-performance Gigabit network card at an
affordable price.
