With other whole-home mesh Wi-Fi systems, you're limited to using matching hubs — often available only in multi-hub packs — and your old router won't work with these systems. AiMesh is much more flexible and cost-effective: if you already own an ASUS router, you can use it in your AiMesh network. For those new to ASUS, if you buy an ASUS router and find that later you need to extend coverage, simply add extra ASUS routers to your AiMesh system when you're ready: you're in full control!

Smart Technology for Maximum Reliability
AiMesh incorporates several technologies to ensure performance and reliability. A rock-solid data 'backbone' connects all the AiMesh-enabled routers, with AiMesh intelligently choosing either a wired connection or the optimal frequency band — 5GHz or 2.4GHz. With tri-band routers, it will dedicate one of the two 5GHz bands to inter-router communications. Self-healing capability immediately replaces a failed router using the remaining router connections. Additionally, ASUS AiMesh checks the signal strength to each device from each router to ensure that devices are always connected to the best WiFi signal, automatically switching to a different router if needed.

AiMesh can create a single, house-wide network name so there’s no need to constantly switch between networks as you roam around your home. AiMesh keeps an eye on the signal strength to your device, and switches it seamlessly to another source if necessary. All you have to do is enjoy it! If you prefer separate network names for each frequency band, you can do that as well — AiMesh is designed to work the way you want!
