Introduction

SUNIX PAR5008R PCI Remap Parallel card enables users to expand one additional real ECP/EPP/SPP/BPP communication LPT port on their PC-based system for connecting their parallel device. This board can be installed as a fully featured I/O mapped parallel port as 278, 378, and 3BC legacy ISA address under Microsoft Windows and DOS operation systems. Besides, there’re some software (hardware) could not switch operation mode automatically, and user has to require changing LPT settings to the particular mode. SUNIX PAR5008R can force setting SPP, Bi-Directional, EPP, or ECP mode by jumper settings!

With legacy ISA address and Parallel operation mode selectiveness feature, SUNIX PAR5008R simulates onboard native parallel port operation completely. User can connect traditional software protection dongles, JTAG chip programmers, data acquisition, machine process control, scientific measurement systems, and other parallel devices as well as computer's native parallel port. SUNIX PAR5008R Remap card is designed with SUNIX high performance and realizable Parallel connectivity controller, UL7502AQ and as well built with many of SUNIX advanced features and technologies, making it the advanced and high efficient solution for commercial and industrial automation applications.

Features

Easy Hardware Settings for Legacy LPT Configuration

SUNIX PAR5008R can simulate onboard native Parallel port operation mode. This board makes a breakthrough of PCI plug-n-play rule, and it allows user remapping legacy ISA address to the LPT port. User can select 278, 378, or 3BC address and independent ECP/EPP/BPP/ SPP mode by on board hardware jumper settings. It’s the same function as traditional motherboard BIOS setting, but SUNIX board accomplish remap feature by hardware jumper.

Provide Real LPT Port for All Legacy Devices

Unlike USB to parallel adapters, SUNIX Remap Parallel Card function exactly likes a computer's native parallel port and provides a true LPT port in order for your PC to work properly with devices that require a LPT port for setup and configuration. For many legacy devices like parallel scanners, zip drives or other older parallel-port devices, they only work with a real parallel LPT port from a computer and in many cases can not work with virtual parallel ports provided from those USB to parallel port adapter cables to simulate parallel connection.

Support for Any Windows-based PC

SUNIX parallel card supports all Microsoft Windows operation systems, including 32/64-bit Microsoft Windows Server (2008, 2003, 2000) and Widows Client (7, Vista, XP, 98). Furthermore, Remapping function is workable with windows system default driver. It makes your whole system working properly without any potential conflicting issue when connecting legacy parallel devices.

Support All Devices Requiring Hardware DB25-Pin Connection

The DB 25-pin connector of this board is suitable for connection with Printer requiring parallel interface, Scanners, LapLink, Zip Drive, Tape Drive, LS-120 Drive, CD-R/RW, EPROM Programmer, Intelligent UPS, Plotter, Bank Passbook Printer, software protection dongles, JTAG chip programmers, data acquisition, machine process control, scientific measurement systems, etc.
