Powered by an AMD Ryzen V1500B 2.2 GHz quad-core processor and 4 GB DDR4 ECC (user-replaceable, 1 x 4 GB installed; expandable to 32 GB), the RS1221+ delivers high multi-user performance with sequential reads up to 2315 MB/s and writes up to 1147 MB/s. It features eight hot-swappable 3.5"/2.5" SATA drive bays, four Gigabit Ethernet ports with link aggregation and failover support, one PCIe 3.0 x8 expansion slot for 10GbE or M.2 cache adapters, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one eSATA port. Runs Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) with enterprise-class software features including Snapshot Replication, Hyper Backup, Synology High Availability, Virtual Machine Manager, AES-NI encryption, Surveillance Station (includes two camera licenses), and broad protocol support (SMB, NFS, AFP, iSCSI, FTP, WebDAV, etc.).
