| Description | The QNAP TL-R1620Sep-RP is a 3U rackmount 16-bay SAS/SATA JBOD expansion enclosure designed to expand the storage capacity of compatible QNAP NAS or supported servers. It supports 2.5" and 3.5" SAS 12Gb/s (SAS-3) and SATA 6Gb/s drives with hot-swappable bays, and is powered by a low-power 28nm SAS35x36R SAS expander. Four 12 Gb/s (x4 lane) Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) wide ports, Broadcom® SAS DataBolt™ bandwidth optimization, multipath routing and link aggregation enable high throughput (up to 96Gb/s with aggregated links). Up to sixteen enclosures can be daisy-chained to deliver up to 4.6PB raw capacity. The unit features a short-depth 3U design, redundant power supply, and is managed via the host NAS (Storage & Snapshot Manager). Host requirements include a compatible QNAP NAS running QTS/QuTS hero 4.5.1 (or later) with SAS ports or an appropriate PCIe SAS expansion card; some deployments list Windows Server 2019 compatibility for PC/server hosts. |
